Q. Can I use my own candle with the Aurora Lamp™?
The Aurora Lamp is designed to be used with jar candles, however you can also use a pillar candle but make sure you place it in a tall candle holder to avoid wax pouring over. You may use your own jar candle with the Aurora Lamp™. Please trim the wick of your candle and do not burn the candle after using it with the Aurora Lamp™.
To use a small contained candle, raise it slightly so that the top of the candle is about 2 inches from the shade, and turn the lamp on. When the scent runs out, just pour out the melted wax and place the candle back on the lamp again.
Q. Can I use my candle repeatedly?
Yes, the wax will solidify when you turn-off the lamp. Turn on the lamp again and the wax will melt again and release the aroma. The scent will eventually run out so you need to pour out some of the melted wax or add a drop of scented oil to regenerate the aroma.
Q. How deep will the wax melt?
It depends on the softness of the wax and the distance from the candle to the shade. For most 4 inch tall candles, the first layer of wax melted will be about one inch deep. As you keep pouring out the wax (when the scent runs out), most of the jar candle will melt.
Q. Where can I purchase spare light bulbs?
The light bulb included with the lamp will last an average of 1000 hours. Although similar looking light bulbs can be purchased from many stores, you need to use the WarmLight NP-2 or NP-4 bulb to be able to melt the wax. You can purchase them through our catalog (Click Here to visit) or though stores that carry the Aurora Lamp™. Please note that the NP-2 bulb is used with the original 12 Volt Aurora Lamp (has an adapter that plugs into the wall), the new 120 Volt lamps use the NP-4 bulb.
